In the year nineteen hundred and seventy-two

I was born in Tucson, AZ in the Southwestern United States. As a youngster I spent most of my time in the desert. This laid a groundwork of the sacredness of nature and introduced me to the spirit of place. I dedicated myself to being an artist at the age of fourteen.

I have also lived, and spent significant time, in Seattle, WA, Santa Fe, NM and Philadelphia, PA. All of these places had a deep and lasting effect on me in many respects. The wonderful people I have befriended is foremost. The spirit of the cities themselves and the land in which those cities live is also of tremendous impact and importance. Many thanks to all of those individuals who have shared life with me and contributed to making me who I am.

The work on this website begins with my thesis exhibition, The Phosphorus Works along with some of the Nesting the Shadow Drawings and ends at the present moment.
